1 Kings 8:23

No God like Thee

No God like Thee. 1Kings 8:23. The gods of men’s making are much like themselves; some ugly, others strong, images sitting on shelves, or gods of imagination, business, pleasure, fame, or self. However, the One God, the True God, is not dead, not a mere phantom or ethereal spirit; he’s a living person who lived here, died for our sins when He was here in fashion as a man, and is now alive forevermore.

By Him, we live and move, even survive in this world where sin and death reign. The opposition of the evil one who wants to take life away or make us who believe in Him in some way stay silent in our testimony and keep our faith hidden. The god of this world wants those who know by nature there is a God who lives not to believe in Him nor acknowledge all He gives to us so that we might have eternal life by personally trusting in Him.

The true God, the living God who makes a covenant with men, has made it very clear that He wants us to have fellowship with Him. He forms covenants and keeps them even when we fail. His mercy extends to us, and His grace provides all we need to return to full fellowship with Him. When we repent and quickly return to Him, we may learn more from our failure than if we had lived self-satisfied, contented lives without much commitment.

Sometimes, it is after our failures that we best learn that our God is one of Love and His Faithfulness is great and unchanging. He forgives our sins by giving His life’s blood when we covenant with Him. He is not confined to a temple; the whole universe is His. Heaven is His throne, and earth is His footstool. The place where we gather is where we come to praise Him for His Person and the great work He has done on our behalf. In love for us and knowing that we are only dust, He provided our ransom by giving His Son. It is blessed to walk before Him and know He knows all about us and our lives. In His mercy, He chose us to be His children, to live for Him, love Him, serve Him here, enjoy Him forever, and share His divine nature. He not only gives us a whole new nature but a new life as well.
