1 Thessalonians 2:1

You Know

You Know. 1st Thessalonians 2:1 These servants endured suffering and faced scorn, yet they remained steadfast even after insults and wounds. The only way to oppose opposition when we are where God wants us is to be courageous and bold. When false accusations are made against a servant, do not act deceitfully or with pretense; instead, follow your sincere motivation of sharing Christ's message. The truth of God must never be compromised. The wrongful motives others hold against faithful servants may cause some suffering, but like those before us, we must be personally convinced that what we preach is true. We need to have experienced the power of the Gospel message firsthand to effectively teach and share it.

Any accusations against those three men could be dismissed by those who knew them when they arrived in Thessalonica. There was a positive response to the message they preached, even though the people of Thessalonica knew they had just been released from prison in Philippi. Fear of imprisonment didn't stop them from fulfilling the call they received from the Lord. The Thessalonian believers themselves showed that their visit wasn't "in vain” but was successful. We should always look for some positive result from preaching the Gospel.
