The Servant’s Conduct. 1st Thessalonians 2:10 When a faithful servant of the Lord lives with an awareness of God's presence, they have hope that inspires them and courage that challenges them to align their public conduct and inner behavior with the service they perform for the Lord. They will know that what they do is not in vain, allowing them to be bold in opposition and honest and transparent before those they preach to. Their goal is to bring glory to God and blessings to both sinners and saints alike. Being gentle and supporting their message with holy living makes an effort successful in God's eyes and often in the eyes of His people.
There is usually a great difference between what people see and what God perceives, but when both are the same, it affirms a person’s integrity. Holy, just, and blameless conduct serves as a wonderful testimony of someone who presents the Gospel. It's like being “the Lord’s messenger in the Lord’s message.” Only God can see what is holy and righteous within His people, but people can observe and testify to those who are blameless. An exemplary Christian life is the key to his success in ministry.
No one could accuse Paul, Silas, and Timothy of misconduct or hidden motives in the work of the Lord they were involved in while in Thessalonica. The threefold cord Paul described was holily (devoutly), justly, and blamelessly demonstrated the value of what they preached. It was above reproach like the messengers who delivered it. They stood by the truths they proclaimed through their conduct and lives.
When we speak on behalf of God, what we do and say is essential. One said long ago, when there was inconsistency, “What you do speaks so loud, I can’t hear a word you say.” May every believer in the Lord Jesus Christ remember that God has entrusted us with His message of salvation. He hears our message and knows our motives, words, and actions.
