Pleased not God – Contrary to Men. 1st Thessalonians 2:15 The Jews in Jerusalem considered Jesus a false prophet, and they feared punishment from the authorities as Christianity grew there. There was extreme hatred against the Lord Jesus Christ because He didn’t match their idea of what the Messiah should be. Jewish leaders also worried about losing their position and influence in society. They were proud of their status and didn't want to give up their powerful role in their culture. The apostles were driven out because of religious hatred.
We must accept that people's hearts have not changed, and it will never be popular to follow the Lord Jesus Christ—especially if we are committed to godly living. Jesus Christ was killed because of who He was and what He did and taught. Servants of the Lord should not expect any better treatment. This still happens today in the world. People of all ages cannot please God without faith. National, religious, cultural, or family identity does not automatically mean people are accepted by God. Personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is the only way to be saved. We are redeemed by the “precious blood” of Christ alone—nothing else!
