Stand fast. 1st Thessalonians 3:8 We should encourage the initiative and commitment we see in other saints by thanking them and letting them know we appreciate their example. A Christian should consistently "stand fast in the Lord" regardless of what may come against them. A certain power in thanksgiving challenges us to move forward because we know God is working through us, and we want Him to keep doing so.
It is more valuable than life to know that what God has done for others who have become close and dear to us is solid and sure. They stand firm with the Lord despite pressures to return to the ways of the world or at least conform to what most people accept. Faith that overcomes and stays strong in adversity is because of the Lord being involved in everything we do. Our strength and ability to persevere in tough times come from our awareness of Him being with us as we testify and witness in places of resistance and open opposition.
