2 Timothy 3:1

PERILOUS TIMES

PERILOUS TIMES. 2nd Timothy 3:1 Changes are approaching the world like a shadow moving under dark clouds. Foolishness, leading to conflict, sparks flames in nations worldwide. Questions that affect the lives of millions cannot be answered. Opposition is not only against those who disagree; it is also against the opposer. He opposes himself through falsehood, ambition, and a lack of integrity. Is there no relief? Will this continue endlessly? Will sinful acts never be satisfied? Dangerous times will come!

Self-love claims the life interests of most people, and its abilities are proven, while those unproven consume the thoughts and minds of the covetous, boasters, and the proud. Disrespect for men and God is clear evidence of blasphemers. Family life has lost its wholesome claims, and divided homes leave behind broken lives. There is little appreciation for efforts to restore purity to corrupted thoughts and minds. Is all that is honorable in unstoppable decline? Will life as we know it change? Will good return? Perilous times shall come!

Religion without the life-power from the Holy Spirit moves crowds but not hearts. Subtle enticements that promise much and deliver little attract and deceive people who don’t take the time to investigate right and wrong. Studies have been made, lessons have been learned, meetings have been held, and talks have been given, but no change has resulted. Resistance to the truth and faith that has been ignored or scorned affects the mass of people who live for success and pleasure. Right words with unreality mislead the simple and counterfeit that will someday be shown for what it is. Is Christianity dying? Will faith be found on the earth? Will the truth be preached? Perilous times shall come!

Each person must make decisions about life, work, faith, truth, holiness, and God. Look and see if the life of God can be seen in this place and time. Watch and pray lest temptations to succumb to the “last days” win. Observe and remember the examples of those who have gone before and lived their lives for the Lord. Persecution is to be expected, so stay connected with your Lord. Continue in His way, no matter what others do. Is it possible to resist? Can we still be effective in our work? Shall we press on? YES! Even if we fail? He knows… the reason for the mistake, the guilt, or the failure. He knows… even when we can’t explain it properly – Perilous times shall come!
