2 Timothy 4:18

THE LORD WILL DELIVER ME

THE LORD WILL DELIVER ME. 2nd Timothy 4:18 Paul was committed to reaching the unsaved. For him, failing to share the Gospel would be considered an evil act. He knew he would soon be “away from” every evil work and trusted the Lord “to bring” him safely to the heavenly kingdom. Paul believed he was close to death, so the deliverance and rescue he mentioned were spiritual, not physical. He confirmed that he knew there was life after death. His trust was in God’s power to guide him through whatever lay ahead. We can be confident and comforted that, despite desperate struggles in this life, whether we are to live or die, the Lord will bring us through them and preserve us for His heavenly kingdom and the many mansions in the Father’s house. A believer can be sure “when thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee.” Our Lord will be with us, so the “floods” will not overwhelm us. Like Paul, we can sing praises to our Lord, knowing that He is working all things to the praise of His glory. That glory will be “forever and ever!” We will be with Him and like Him, free from the restrictions of time. In the kingdom of God, we exist in a timeless eternity of glory, purpose, joy, and meaningful fellowship with God and all His family!
