PLEASE COME SOON. 2nd Timothy 4:9 Not everyone shares the same characteristics and personal connections. Although Luke, the beloved physician, was with Paul and likely glad to serve him in every way he could, there was something different between Paul and Timothy. Their bond was like that of a father and son. He was the only one among Paul’s companions who was “like-minded” and who “naturally” cared about the well-being of God's people.
Timothy was eager and willing to serve others because he had a servant's heart. He was a dependable companion when needed and, with his teachable spirit, was eager to learn everything he could from Paul. Timothy was caring, shared the same goals as Paul, and was trustworthy and faithful in doing what he was told. It was in his spiritual nature to work for the Lord wholeheartedly. He could understand Paul’s vision and pass it on to faithful men who could teach others the word of God.
People we can openly share our thoughts, ambitions, and fears with are rare. Such “kindred spirits" provide great comfort during times of suffering, rejection, opposition, and animosity.
