B. Principles to apply.
1. Begin with prayer.
2. Love them and get close to them.
3. Live as a disciple (be an example.
4. Be manly in your work (demand a lot, and you'll get men).
5. Use them (give them work and keep adding responsibility, or you'll lose them).
6. Use your team method as a recruiting tool.
7. Meet their needs. (Make them your ministry. Don't just have them to help you out).
8. Give them vision. (Relate constantly to the Great Commission).
9. Learn how to spot a good man. (Don't worry about the ones who only want some good fellowship. Pick out winners).
10. Hold them loosely. (Don't keep them in a cage.)
11. Take your time. (Pray together. Talk. Share labor.)
C. Tough Teaching.
1. Lead them. Get out front.
2. Demand whatever is necessary for them to be acceptable to those they will work with.
3. Balance evangelism and discipleship.
4. Break new ground.
a. Get God's thoughts and move out. b. Be compassionate and show it. Talk it.
5. Act with courage.
6. Act with dignity.
