ACTS 17 "Passed through" Amphipolis and Apollonia..." A need does not necessarily constitute a call. I must do what God has called me to and trust Him to meet other needs through others. A. On the Part of the Worker

1. Went to the synagogue. (Methods change).

a. If something works, use the method again and again. b. When the time comes to change, be willing to do it.

2. Opened the Scriptures (message never changes).

a. Message must be biblical. b. Christ-centered. c. Clear: relates to the audience and their issues and problems.

3. It is God who does the work. We are merely channels.

B. On the Part of Satan

1. Opposition ) These find their source in Satan

2. Conflict )

C. On the Part of Most People

1. Resistance: a natural tendency.

a. The devil has them blinded. 11 Cor. 4:4. b. Minds are set on natural desires. Rom. 8:5. c. Curiosity to try sin. Isa. 53:6

1) Seems glamorous;

2) Seems appealing.

d. Hostility towards God. Rom.8:7-8. "Natural mind is enmity against God."

D. Our Responsibility: Keep at it.

1. Paul's text: The Word of God.

2. Paul's message: The Son of God.

3. Paul's confidence: The power of God.

4. Paul's guide: The Spirit of God.
