ACTS 21 A. Is God's Intention...

1. Spiritual adulthood can be seen...

a. Bonds of love. Not an opportunist. b. Leadership qualities. v.3-11 1) Treats people like disciples of Christ and helps them spiritually.

2) Treat people like human beings and personal needs.

2. Spiritual gifts can be seen.

a. Not at a standstill. v.12-17 b. Going on strong. (Philip) c. Marching forward in spite of difficulties. d. Willing to take "hands off" when necessary.

B. Marks of Maturity

1. Can discern God's will for himself.

v.18-26 a. Discernment b. Initiative c. Sound judgment

2. Life pleasing to the Lord: conducts his affairs wisely.

3. Life filled with good works.

4. A deepening knowledge of God; know their work but not God.

5. Keeps on growing stronger in the Lord and the power of His might.

6. Displays steadfastness and endurance despite obstacles.

7. Exhibits joyful thanksgiving.

8. Abounds with love based on knowledge, common sense, and spiritual insight.

9. Discern the best from good: first things first.

10. Lives a sincere, pure life without offense.

11. Filled with Christ's righteousness.

C. Results of Maturity.

1. Effective in service.

2. Productive spiritually.

v.39 3. God alone is credited with gains.

4. Maintains unity and peace: Satan causes dissension.

5. Takes every opportunity for gains for God.
