ACTS 23

1. Paul, in chains, had discovered life in all its fullness in Christ Jesus. Romans 1:1: Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, was called to be an apostle and set apart for the Gospel of God. A new Name, a new Calling, a new Life.

2. The Council: their fifth opportunity to hear the message of Christ. a. From Jesus Himself. Lu. 19:47-48. b. From Peter and John. Acts 3 c. From the apostles. Acts 5:27-32 d. From Stephen. Acts 7 e. From Paul.

GOD WAS ABLE TO USE PAUL MIGHTILY BECAUSE:

A. He gave himself to anyone.

1. Ungodly

2. Unlovely

3. Unreceptive

4. Followed Christ's example

B. He wholeheartedly obeyed the Word of God.

1. The Word governed his life.

He quoted from Exodus about the priest.

2. Obedience to the Word should mark every area of life.

C. He was committed to the end.

1. A whole life of service because of compelling love.

2. The Lord encouraged him. One with God is a majority.

3. Love for Christ compels us to carry out our responsibility.
