ACTS 3 THE ATTITUDES OF THE APOSTLES

1. Prayerful. v. 1 a. They had set times and places for prayer. b. Prayed together or alone. c. Make a place and a plan. d. Proceed.

2. Flexible. v. 2-3 a. Noted for flexibility. b. Learned it from constant interruptions when they were with Jesus. c. Learned to roll with the punches. d. Don't get rigid, uptight, or inflexible. e. Maintain clear objectives in a framework and surround them with a gentle and flexible attitude. "What doesn't vibrate shatters."

3. People-oriented. v. 3-8 a. People are either goal-oriented or people-oriented. Most North Americans are goal-oriented. b. We are to preach the Gospel to make disciples. c. Only people will be in heaven, not projects or studies. d. Peter and John knew the money given to them wasn't theirs.

4. Humility. v. 9-12 a. Peter immediately recognized people's tendency to worship man. b. He was quick to deny that his ministry would have been finished. c. He immediately turned their attention toward God and the Gospel. d. He didn't get onto side issues.

5. Aware of Opportunities. v. 12-26. a. Situations are all around us for witnessing. b. You don't need to make a big deal of it, but it's natural. c. Called for repentance. v. 19. d. Preached justification. v. 26. Peter spoke clearly and patiently to bring them to faith in Christ.

FOUR QUALITIES OF DISCIPLESHIP:

1. Be committed to prayer.

2. Flexibility.

3. Demonstrated humility.

4. Alert, compassionate, loving witnesses.
