Colossians 1:27

Christ in You

Christ in You. Colossians 1:27. This is not a hidden secret for just a select few. God wants this to be a known and appreciated truth for all the saints. Some people have said in the past, and sometimes still do, "Pray through, so you can be one Christ gives a special strength, and you will be filled with the Holy Ghost." But that is not really how salvation and the indwelling of the Spirit happen. Through Christ, those things that were previously hidden have been revealed. We are not our own; we have been purchased at a great price—the precious blood of Christ. Now the mystery is clear: Christ is in us—He is our life.

God's plan is for Christ to dwell in us; He is the "hope of glory." For those who know Him, He is not concealed from our view, nor is the truth of believers being part of the body of Christ. This is one of the most blessed truths of redemption's story. Through the Spirit of God, Christ comes to live in each person who is born again. We do not need to schedule appointments to connect with Him because He abides with us and within us—that is the Master's plan. When we are aware of this holy calling, it keeps our hearts from sin and our consciences tender and eager to please our Lord. It's hard to imagine! God is pleased to come and dwell in man!

There is a reason for this: God's glory will be revealed throughout the world through His people, who embody in human form what Christ was like. He is not visible in His physical body anymore, as He was years ago, but in those He has set apart, He demonstrates His grace to everyone eager to see. He remains faithful amid unfaithfulness; truth amid falsehood is revealed through God's people who live the "hope of glory" by consistently living each day. By responding to His call whenever He beckons, they can showcase the "hope of glory" in all their actions and words.
