Colossians 3:12–17

ONE ANOTHER

ONE ANOTHER. Colossians 3:12-17 When Christ is everything and in everyone to the people of God, it should be natural for us to wear the virtues that represent Him as we interact daily with those around us. These Christian virtues promote unity among God's people because it should be our practice to deliberately adopt them like clothing, reflecting the character of a righteous, holy, and beloved person. We are motivated to walk in newness of life because of Christ's grace directed toward us—those whom God has chosen, set apart for Himself, loved, and forgiven. Our daily strategy for living for God is to live righteously in a Christ-like manner. Gnosticism never fosters that in a person's character.

Distinctions in the church are not based on a person's culture, nationality, or race; God-given gifts are for the benefit of all, aligning with how the body functions. By God's electing grace, He made the sovereign decision to save His people, not to condemn anyone to a lost eternity. The choice then rests with each individual to accept or reject the salvation God has graciously provided. God selects believers to demonstrate what He desires people to be like. He knows who we are, and His grace motivates us to display this grace to others. We have been positionally set apart by Him and called "holy and beloved." Now, the challenge is to live practically set apart for God.
