Deuteronomy 4:2

Instructions

Instructions. Deuteronomy 4:2. God is not confused about His plans; they were made before “the beginning.” He has clearly revealed everything we need to know in His Word to give us understanding. It would be the same as rejecting His name if I try to add to His Word, take some away, or diminish what it says. That would be a severe insult to the Lord, almost like saying I know better than He does what should be said. I am to “keep” His Word, make it known to others, and “do” what I have learned.

His Word will give me wisdom when I use it right. Far be it for me to spurn the truths it contains, for they are placed there by God. He has every right to expect me to obey what He says since I surrendered to Him and acknowledged Him as Lord. From then on, I was committed to following “The Way.”

Understanding of events and choices to be made comes to me when I heed His Word. When there are alternatives, I plead for understanding. God is faithful in giving light to understanding when I read His word. I must never forget I’m under His command because it’s not enough to know what is right; it is wrong for me to forget. I have heard His voice, sensed His guiding hand, and by His truth, overcome the sins that try to beset me.
