John 1:10–13

Born again

Born again. John 1:10-13. A person is not automatically a child of God. To become a child of God, one must personally accept it. You cannot become what you already are. The condition for becoming a child of God is to receive Christ and trust in His name. Not all people become children of God. Not everyone wants to accept Christ as their Savior from sin’s consequences. The process of becoming a child of God: What it is not. It is not physical birth. It is not something we do through our own effort or will. The process of becoming a child of God: What it is. God makes His creatures; His children are “begotten” by Him through the Word of God and the Spirit of God. For example, an engineer can make a computer, but he has to beget a child. The computer might do greater things than the child, but the child shares the engineer’s life, his relationship, enjoyment of the father’s love, and fellowship.
