His Fullness. John 1:16 Everything belongs to our Lord Jesus Christ, from the earth’s core to the mantle—land and sea. Every vein of precious metal, every hidden source of power in its fullness, surpasses any other force, and it all came from Him. From the fullness of His being, I can draw strength for every hour. Every act of divine initiative the Father planned in wisdom, and the Son paid for on Calvary for the completeness of redemption; the Lord Jesus, in His fullness, accomplished it. The Holy Spirit has brought God’s blessing to man here, and the fullness of the Godhead has made that blessing accessible to me.
His fullness fills everything, from the greatest to the smallest; there is no limit to such a Source – His provision is abundant. It is God in Christ, in whom all fullness dwells in a body, who is above and greater than all. I have received from His fullness the holy character traits needed to make my life and service complete. Whatever my life requires – faith for faith or grace for grace – from His abundant supply, He provides. For all future ages, just as in the past, He will freely dispense everything needed for every hope. Not only does He give, but His giving will outlast every situation – at His right hand is eternal fullness of joy.
