John 2:23–25

He knew

He knew. John 2:23-25. He knows all people: nothing is hidden from His eyes, which are everywhere, seeing good and evil, names and places, failures and victories, thoughts and intentions, actions and their outcomes, fears and courage, losses and gains because He knows all people [Jn.2:24]. He understood the thoughts of those who tried to find reasons to accuse Him. He was aware of their jealousy and hatred, their plots and evil schemes, anger, and plans to murder Him. He knew they were looking for reasons to accuse Him of wrongdoing. Their forms of religion, hypocrisy, and pretense did not surprise Him because He knew their thoughts [Lu.6:8].

He knew what was in man, who was made in His image but failed to obey Him and submit to His authority because they chose to sin. Therefore, death has passed upon all men, for all have sinned. Man's nature is to sin, and men find it easy to sin because man's heart is deceitful and desperately wicked. He knows our wicked ways because He knows what is in man [Jn.2:25].

He knew who would betray Him. Judas had never been able to deceive Him. Judas, a son of perdition, fulfilled the words of prophecy through his company, the bag he carried, and the money he stole, the public place he held, and the private greed he concealed. Even the thirty pieces of silver were foretold, and the kiss of death was no surprise to Jesus because He knew who would betray Him [Jn.13:11].
