Leviticus 6:30

For God only

For God only. Leviticus 6:30. When God clearly reveals His will for you, do not make any strange changes. His plans are unchangeable; we must not interfere in areas only God can claim. Too often, people have forced themselves into places where they don’t belong and tried to walk on ground too holy for them. No matter who we are, we should not assume ourselves or our lives to be free from sin. The place where God dwells is completely sanctified; there’s no way to approach Him without blood. To partake in what belongs only to God is so terribly wrong that I believe I would die if I did.

In grace, God reaches out to us to show His interest in our lives. When He calls us to Him through His word, we can hear Him directly, and we are then free to give back to Him. It has long been understood that God’s greatest desire is to share fellowship and joy with all people. He has moved toward us so that we might be reconciled to Him; even when we experience our “failures,” we can return to Him.

The blood of the sacrifice had to be shed so that redemption could be possible through the Sinless One who died for us. We can draw near to where grace flows freely. Once it is clear that we have been reconciled freely and that God has entirely accepted us in Christ, we know God has come close and accepted our trust rather than our fear, and that our prayers are not denied. We are not intruding on His holy ground because this is where He calls us to come. We live our new life where grace abounds; where God dwells—this is our home. The ground I walk on by nature is not holy ground. But when I consider the cost of the sacrifice and the altar on which it was laid, I see that there is nothing to add or take away. May I always be kept from ever taking the Person of that offering for granted!
