THE THINGS OF OTHERS. Philippians 2:1-11 The main goal of Paul in writing to the believers in Philippi was to encourage unity among them as a church. Along those lines, there are examples of living the Christian life as God intends. The first example in this chapter is the Son of God Himself. The second is the servants of God. There should be a visible display of Christ in His followers. Pride and ego can lead to conflict among God's people. But since there is "consolation" or encouragement in Christ, we should claim for ourselves what is ours in Him.
