POWER FOR LIVING. Philippians 4:8-23 Consciousness of God's presence keeps a believer in a state of soul where they can live in peace and experience God's power working in their life. Man is created in God's image in that we have emotions to love God, a mind to know God, and a will to obey God. These three aspects of our humanity are reflected in this chapter. Our emotions are discussed in verses 4 through 7. Our thinking and the regulation of our thoughts are addressed in verse 8. Our behavior, our will, is covered from verse 9 through 18. When we combine these, we understand where the strength for living the Christian life comes from.
