Power and Divinity. Romans 1:20 Wherever we look, there is unmistakable evidence of the work of divinity. God's deity, the state of being God, is known by those who know Him personally - His saints. His divinity pertains to God and is there for everyone to see in His creation. A person alone out in a great desert lifts his eyes to consider the stars, and he can find his way home. The seaman in the middle of Earth's vast oceans can tell the direction to travel by scanning the stars, the sun, and the moon. Then, he considers the winds and the tides and can find his way around the world. The new mother, marveling at the miracle of new life conceived in her, is made aware of the power and reality of God. The farmer sows seed in prepared ground. Then he waits for the sun and rain to do their work, expecting thousands of times more seeds to be produced than he planted. In faith, he plants and waits for the power and divinity of God to work the miracle of life.
The power and personhood of God are invisible yet are plainly seen by what they produce. What is inside of any person is revealed by what they do. Intelligence, skill, motivation, and character are not physical things in themselves. The way they are put together and the results that come from that, opens their personality to scrutiny. We know a lot about God by the variety, order, harmony, beauty, quality and quantity of His actions. When they are put together, we are amazed at the complexity and variety of what He does.
Those things open our understanding of who He is and some of what He is like. The fact that all He has created and what His creation has done for our benefit gives us a little glimpse of His divine character. He sends rain on the just and unjust, so we know He has no respect of persons. His salvation message is unto all and upon all that believe. He had demonstrated His kindness and consideration of our limitations by having the seasons year after year in such an order that provision is made for our needs. His grace brings delight to us in many ways, and His love is demonstrated by Christ's death for our sins.
No matter where one may be found in the world, no matter what culture or religion, there is clear evidence of the power and divinity of God that is easily seen. From the day of creation, man has been without excuse to believe in God. God gave them the light of creation. From that light visible to the human eye and mind unfolds the truth of Divine Persons of intelligence, order, and power. In man's very nature, a response is prompted to act in faith or deliberate rejection. To every person, there is a positive response of faith that can be rejected by the human will and will bring damnation if one does so because they are without excuse.
Natural revelation reveals God’s might, intelligence, and amazing skills, which are evident in the order and beauty we see all around us in creation. By a special revelation of Himself through the written word of God and the coming to earth of our Lord Jesus Christ, who was found in fashion as a man, we learn about His mercy, grace, forgiveness, and love ways that are in human form. By natural revelation and special revelation, we believe in Him as a real Person and more importantly, accept Him as our own Lord and Savior.
