Titus 2:5

HOLY ATTITUDES

HOLY ATTITUDES. Titus 2:5 Loving one's husband signifies that a wife has a special warmth and importance that is unique to him alone. Caring for children involves tenderness and maternal instincts. Children are more valuable than a career, ambitions, or personal well-being. When a young woman is discreet, it shows that she balances enthusiasm with self-control, and that this balance is both practiced and practical. Modesty is a chaste purity that includes no suggestive thoughts, actions, or speech, whether in dress, physical conduct, or words. Household duties should be attended to personally with dedication and a sense of responsibility to guide the household. Goodness and kindness often go hand in hand, as a good character naturally leads to acts of kindness. A woman who is obedient to her husband should not be seen as akin to slavery or servitude, but rather as accepting her role in relation to her husband. His responsibility is to hold the final authority in the home, and supporting that fact is a positive thing that upholds the word of God rather than causing blasphemy. Home order is crucial in the testimony of believers as it relates to practicing the word of God. Women are generally not under men's authority but rather under the authority of their own husbands. A discreet woman is wise in her understanding and moderate in her actions. She recognizes what is appropriate in each situation and fulfills her responsibilities without going to extremes. A Christian woman dedicates herself to remaining chaste by controlling her thoughts and actions to align with what the Bible teaches. She must avoid any appearance of impurity by being faithful to the Lord, her husband, her family, and her testimony as a member of the Lord’s people within a local fellowship of believers. As a homemaker, she has a unique role and responsibility in the home, called and anointed by the Holy Spirit to guide her. She has been given a divine service to serve for God's glory. “Good” is a broad word that means being intentionally kind, hospitable, gracious, generous, and caring toward others, including her husband and family. She is not a self-centered or possessive person who pushes others away if they don’t fit her “comfort zone.” An obedient wife respects her husband’s leadership in the home and family. She does not try to undermine his decisions and, if she disagrees, she discusses her concerns with him privately before accepting his reasonable conclusion on the matter. Avoiding blasphemy of God's word emphasizes the importance of the person God has equipped with gifts and responsibilities to guide and nurture others. A spiritual purpose is essential for a Christian woman who does not abuse her liberty in Christ or cause scandal or harm to God's word. She will recognize that dissension, disinterest, and discontent with her role in life are incompatible with her witness and testimony as a child of God. Those who willingly accept the role God has given will be motivated to please Him in any way they can.
