1st John 3:2. “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be; but we know that when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is.” AS HE IS #2. To be a child of God is not some trivial thing. By God’s Spirit I was convicted and by the Spirit born again. Now it is only right that God expects of me, a son – To reflect the character of God, and appreciate what He has done.
But this is only the beginning of a divine working in me – When He appears and I see Him, I shall be like Him in purity. The sins and transgressions that hinder, by Him have been taken away, And evidence of this should be noticed in all I do and say.
The Son of God was here to defeat and destroy the devil – As one born of God, I too, am aware of the consequences of evil. A child of God wants to please the One who adopted him, And in righteousness now I live; grieved whenever I sin.
By God’s help I will always remember, I am His bought with a price. The life of righteousness is important, this is evidence of new life. Love for God and others is the characteristic most desired – And Christian who love one another, make our God by others admired.
“I desire Christ-likeness, Father God. I want to be like my Lord now but so often I hardly know much difference in me than those that do not know Thee. I need Thy power and grace to let love for Thee and others be seen in my face – and I need this to be seen in the actions and bent of my life. I pray for this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.”
