1st John 4:16. “And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.” KNOWN AND BELIEVED. I have known God’s love in many ways – By what He has done and what He says – In the darkest nights or brightest days – He is faithful and I truly believe.
Experiencing God’s love is a real test – Because I have to trust that He knows best – When life seems harder on me than all the rest – He has allowed it and I truly believe.
When I do what God says and act in faith – When the events unfold with a bitter taste – When all I have to hold is the promise of grace – He is near and I truly believe.
When the events unfolding are full of wonder – And the prayers are answered and He is honored – And I stop to meditate, and on His blessing ponder – He promised and I truly believe.
I have watched when the saints have come to death’s door – When they and I know we won’t be together any more – And for both of us attention is fixed on the heavenly shore – He doesn’t leave and I truly believe.
I have believed and experienced what God said is right – When I act in faith life is lived in the light – Knowing and believing make my spirit bright – He never fails and I truly believe.
“I thank Thee Father God, for the blessings of being able to experience Thy presence and live in Thy light. It makes everything associated with living so reasonable and right. I know personally and experimentally that “God is love,” and I give thanks in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.”
