1st John 5:18. “And we know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.” KEEPETH HIMSELF. We are not under bondage by God’s grace we are free. One born of God can be all he should be. Greater is the Spirit in us than he in the world – We are kept safe by God though by many misunderstood.
People of the world over sin have no power. Their slavery to sin claims every waking hour. Those who are the Lord’s by His grace live in freedom – Not bound by sin’s chains, loving the One who freed them.
Safe from sins dominion there is no reason to fear The One who gave new life always is very near. When we came to Christ in faith a whole life we began – There is no middle ground, we are held by God’s hand.
Satan will attack it happens to saints often; But when we resist him, there is power to conquer. We are not under his power in any way at all – Our God is there to keep us, He hears our earnest call.
“I do not have the power in myself Father, to keep from all that is in the world, the flesh and the devil. I do thank Thee, the Spirit of God is able to supply the power that overcomes these enemies. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.”
A child of God may commit acts of sin but does not habitually live in sin. The One who paid the price of our salvation by giving Himself on the cross as a ransom for us, has delivered us and continues to guard us who are the fruit of His sacrifice. Satan does attack believers from without, but he cannot "fasten himself" on us as he does on those who are under his control. Our Lord mentioned to the Father in His prayer in John 17 that those who the Father gave to the Son, keep His word. He also said He kept them. It is up to us to know what God says and do it. Our Lord guards us and keeps us safely from Satan's power and control.
We know that we are born of God and sin is not the controlling power in our lives. We also know we are children of God because it was God who brought this new life to us. We have been "born out of God." Our nature, our eternal life, has its source in God. We are in his family by virtue of what He has done, not anything we have done or might do. By contrast unbelievers are under the control of the god of this world. He pressures them to do the best they can to make themselves "acceptable."
