1st Peter 2:12. “Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.”
PEOPLE ARE WATCHING. The conduct of life has a lot to say – About what is important and really matters to me. The way I work and talk every day – Testifies to people who only believe what they see. So even though they choose to talk behind my back – The problem is theirs far more than mine. They know in their hearts there’s something they lack – And that’s why they are looking for some fault to find.
There is a consolation – there is a day that’s coming When they will want or have some serious need. When that time comes, by God’s grace, I’ll be waiting To help them along and my words they will heed. Because I believe there comes a time in each life When people know they need God and don’t know where to turn. When that day comes, may I have shed enough light – So that what I do and say, they will no longer spurn.
I do worry over those who are close – That there is something in me that turned them away. I search, looking back over some decisions I chose – To see if some action I can take that their will, will sway Their decisions and turn them to God from sin. Lord, help them see what they’re doing affects others – By grace, call them back to begin life over again – And help me to live in a way that honors, Thee, Father.
“I know Heavenly Father, what I do here has an effect on other people. By Thy great power, I choose to live in a way that honors Thee, no matter what others My do. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.”
