1st Peter 2:6. “Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture; behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.” CHIEF CORNER STONE. It is obvious to the eyes of persons who building practices know, The building that we see on top, depends on what is below. The testimony of apostles and prophets, even though they’re gone, Form the foundation of the walls the Church is builded on.
But foundation stones could be crooked, not made of the right stuff – So, something else is needed long before a finished roof.
The very first stone laid is the Chief Corner Stone of the Church – And that Stone has to be so perfect that earthquakes won’t make it lurch.
The Chief Corner Stone was scrutinized, but the “experts” passed it by. They wanted what they wanted, not the One the Holy God did eye. That Stone was completely solid, in it was found no flaw – The shape and form were perfect – this building could not fall.
God laid it in its perfection so that every stone could easily fit The foundation stones added, and other stones came out from it. In every direction the walls made of living stones each know – The Chief Corner Stone personally, He is the “Faithful and True.”
The building is almost done now, there has been no deterioration – Though there have been challenges and wars, the saints from every nation Form a part of this structure that’s sound, never again with there be One That is securely built and will always stand on Christ, the Corner Stone.
“We certainly have been attacked, O God. Cheap builders are trying to get cheap material into the building. But it is not too hard to tell when a stone is cold and hard, or warm and living. We all get our heat from that precious Corner Stone. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.”
1st Peter 2:7. “Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,” HE IS PRECIOUS. Because of who He is, eternal in His being – Because of what He knows, omniscient in His seeing – Because of where He came from, willing in His leaving – To those who believe on Him, He is the Preciousness from God.
Because of where He came to, earth so full of sin – Because of His spotless character, totally undefiled within – Because of His incarnation, He became a man among men – To those who believe on Him, He is the Preciousness - the Son of God.
Because of His grace He became poor, that we in Him might be rich – Because of His mercy He rescued us, who were fallen in sin’s ditch – Because of His love he went to the cross, from sin’s payment did not flinch – To those who believe on Him, He is the Preciousness – the Lamb of God.
Now to us who Him obey; He is the One we hold most dear – Now to us who Him obey, He is honored and His name we revere Now to us who Him obey; He is the Head who is ever near – To those who obey Him, He is the head of the Corner – the True Christ of God.
“There are times Father, when words don’t come so easily when I am speaking to Thee about the Lord. He does surpass all descriptions we humans try to use. But I thank Thee for the many ways He is revealed in scripture in all His fullness. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.”
