1 Peter 3:4

QUIET SPIRIT

1st Peter 3:4. “But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.” QUIET SPIRIT. There is something about one’s spirit Which cannot be detected by some sound. Visual images cannot display it – It is not something to be tossed around. Generally, it takes time For what is inside to come out – And the spirit of a person is seen In meekness not some great shout.

God alone is really the one Who knows the true spirit of a man; Reality is not hidden from Him – He is not moved by impressions or sham. Some people who know what is right Can detect through one’s face and hands – If the spirit is quiet or uptight – Revealing what words ne’er can.

God knows and appreciates His truth In women who live their lives before the Lord. He values very highly their inward life and worth That speaks volumes without the spoken word. The ornaments women may wear Is not what is important unto Him. Their quiet spirit to others declares Their true worth is what is within.

“Father, I thank Thee for helping godly sisters to maintain a positive spiritual testimony to those in their homes, in the assembly they are a part of and in the community in which they live. Give them daily grace to keep a meek and quiet spirit. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.”
