1st Peter 4:11. “If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.” SPEAK… SERVE. The words came from a man but they must be heard – God uses men to speak for Him. Let him who hears keep in mind this truth – It is God who speaks through men. The responsibility is heavy for he must speak as an oracle – The words must be the very words of God. To interpose as an “oracle” ideas and opinions of oneself Is to fail in this calling of the Lord.
The same motivation is in service when ministering to others – This is not some casual work we’re called to do. God gives ability to fully carry out given tasks – And the purpose is that through me, His grace will show. I dare not be careless for God’s glory is at stake – He deserves my best to be done in every way. Those who benefit from spoken words and gracious deeds – Will bring honor and praise to God by what they say.
Truths passed on to others by those who love the Lord – Are never wasted words when they are spoken. The ultimate result may never by me be heard – But the final conclusion of the matter is when the books are opened. Who knows at the moment what the outcome will finally be – Of simple obedience to God’s command. I am privileged now to bear as each day gives to me – Opportunities of service when passing through Beulah land.
“This day is opening up to me Father. Whether here in this quiet place or in the public – help me to honor Thee in word and deed. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.”
