Colossians 1:14. "In whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins:"
FORGIVENESS. It has been paid! The price unable to be reached by mortal man, Has been met in full by the highest cost. Who can conceive of spotless, innocent blood being shed, That a sinful man would not be lost. The sacrifice that One would make To free one bound by sin in life - Is so far beyond mere human measure - That there is no comparison in the realm of the mind.
But God unfolds in holy pages, The reason and way redemption can be made. Down through the years of the passing ages, He clearly stated that death is the price to be paid, For sin and that there is no other - But there is One who was willing and able To satisfy the claims of a righteous God, and so the Father Sent His to earth; born in a stable - On His cross, it was fully paid!
Forgiven! That word has a special ring. Forgiven! By God's grace from everything Forgiven! At a cost beyond my ken Forgiven! Impossible by mortal men Forgiven! Not by works or authority Forgiven! By One who by faith's eye I see Forgiven! Not stained by human hands Forgiven! By the only unique God-Man Forgiven! Not just in pity overlooked Forgiven! When the punishment for sin He took Forgiven! By the only One who has that power
Forgiven! From faith's beginning hour Forgiven! There is no other price to be paid Forgiven! By the precious blood that He shed
"Father God, Thy righteous justice, and eternal love have made it possible for me to be legally forgiven. I praise Thee and thank Thee from a full heart. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen."
