Colossians 2:11. "In who ye also are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off of the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ."
A SPIRITUAL OPERATION. There are a lot of signs and symbols around today, Many people think they're needed to testify. There's the crosses and the fishes, bumper stickers and words that say Some message like a hand and fingers pointing to the sky - All of these are outwardly seen, and I guess there is nothing wrong,
If folks use these things to try and spread the Word - But God has His way of doing things that has bee around so long - He circumcised the heart of believers that Jesus Christ will be Lord.
I can have a symbol or a sign put in a prominent place on my car; But if I don't drive like a Christian that sign is a big mistake. I can have a pin on my lapel, or a cross as a tattoo on my arm - But those as a true Christian testimony don't in any way make. It is true man looks on the outward appearance and God looks upon the heart, But I need to remember what is inside does ultimately to others show out. A spiritual operation on one's heart is where God initially starts To bring and promote an effective testimony that will ultimately come about.
God takes away the old nature and gives us a new one like His - There is nothing in any way comparable or compatible about these two. To try and maintain friendship with the world is impossible when this Spiritual operation has been performed on you. There may be things people see but what makes the real difference - Are those unseen spiritual qualities God Himself imparts. Faith will be something real - hope and love will others bless - And grace to others will flow from redeemed and sanctified hearts.
