Colossians 2:19. "And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God." DISCONNECTED. The body doesn't really work right if the parts are not connected - Not just connected to each other, but particularly to the Head. Actually, if each part is not from the Head continually being instructed - Not just one part is affected but the whole is certifiably dead. Every part of the body, from the smallest to the greatest, Is knit together forming one smooth-functioning unit. When each part fulfills what it is designed to accomplish - The Head coordinates the whole in order to effectively use it.
When any false teacher or one who tries to be independent, Tries to attach himself to the body like an appendage - He does not take life from the Head and is not part of the unit. He is like an open sore that can't be helped or bandaged. His life-source is not from the Head of the body But is likely from some demon or some man. The connection that he has is a dark spirit that is haughty - He and his false teaching must be banned.
The true body parts respond to God's Word And are increasing in strength as they hear. They apply what they learned in the service of the Lord And each part working together will bear Fruit that lasts because it is the truth - And that appendage will soon fall away. There will not be confusion in the work, and the unity of the group That form the body will as one functioning unit, stay.
"Lord God, the small groups of believers are finding it hard in some places because they are looking for numerical growth. Keep them safe from those who would attach themselves to them and are not truly wanting to be a part of the body, but are wanting to take the place of the Head. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen."
