Colossians 2:2

COMFORTED

Colossians 2:2. "That their hearts may be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;"

COMFORTED. Uncertainty and uneasiness kind of go together; Almost like a pair of twins. They both turn their heads at the very same time, When someone says they both are sins. But that is not really the case, If we look in the right place to get an answer to the problem. Instead of paying attention to the unusual ideas of men, Turn to the Word of God to solve them.

God has revealed that salvation is by grace, Not by something we earn or merit. Forgiveness of sins is a work of God alone, We don't make it happen or in any way share it. What we do when we understand our sinful condition, Is repent of sin and turn to God in faith. Assurance and understanding of God's salvation comes, When we acknowledge it is all by His redeeming grace.

Hearts are comforted and fellowship is enjoyed, When we don't compare our experience with others. God deals with us individually, As He does with all our sisters and brothers. The uniting influence of the family of God, Isn't some mysterious experience to copy. But it is God Himself in the Person of Christ, Who imparts in us the spirit of family.

"Father, the comfort that comes from not having to try to make myself acceptable to Thee, but to know I am accepted in Christ, is comfort indeed. I rest in Thee alone. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen."
