Colossians 3:12. "Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;" HIS CHARACTER. The new life of believer is like putting on a new coat - He is now in the family of God. The apostle Paul, when these words he wrote
Knew they were the words of the Lord. The character of the believer is holy and beloved - Something new has happened within. The Spirit of God and new nature bestowed, That resists the pressures of sin.
There is a new attraction, a desire to show mercy, For mercy has been shown to us. God in His grace extended to us truly His arm creating faith and trust. Kindness to others no longer is a stranger, It is natural, for grace has this effect. What kindness was shown by the Babe in the manger That we might be part of God's elect!
A humble mind should be always in vogue, Humility has a power of its own. Meekness is power that is under control, That enable one to bear another's load. Longsuffering, or long temper means a pause Is needed when some issues arise. It searches for the reason that is the real cause, And the needs to be met that underlies.
"May my character reflect Thee, O God, and may these attributes not just be words on a paper, but reality in my life. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen."
