EXODUS 15:26. “And said, ‘If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in His sight, and wilt give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.” NONE OF THESE DISEASES.
At first it seemed there was no fear Of serious consequences – For after all – the magicians there Made similar evidences. But as days followed each other rapidly by, Things quickly got much worse – The warnings God had told Moses to say, Affected Egypt’s families with disease.
Death claimed the firstborn across the land, And Israel was quickly set free. They were liberated by God’s almighty hand – By His power they crossed the Sea. And then God promised health to them – They all could live without disease. Obey His commandments – listen to Him – He promised – “I am He that healeth thee.”
We learn today from this promise of old – God protects those who walk His ways. The pathway of life when the truth we hold – Gives life meaning and length of days. The Lord knows each pain disease will cause – His power controls all that happens to me. There are occasional times when I foolishly fail – Still I praise Him and will seek to obey.
“God my Father, I know my good health has come from Thee by grace alone, not because I have done anything that would warrant such favor. Yet, I appreciate so much that Thou hast been pleased to allow me so many years of blessed health – and I thank Thee, In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.”
