Judges 7:15. “And it was so, when Gideon heard the telling of the dream and the interpretation thereof, that he worshipped, and returned into the host of Israel, and said, ‘Arise; for the Lord hath delivered into your hand the host of Midian.’”
SUCCESS. Real success is not by some chance – Or because of wishful thinking in the dead of the night. It begins when we pray and study to learn God’s plans – And then God uses you beyond physical might. Learning to trust Him may take quite some time – When we still think like the world and the power of many. Who would ever think a pitcher and a light to shine, Would bring a mighty victory and soundly defeat the enemy.
Of course, we know it was God who gave Israel that great success. But just the same, He wanted some men to participate – Then they would learn from victory, God wanted to bless Not only now but in future years when they would go forth in faith. The sword was the Lord’s and was Gideon’s sword too – And God moved the host of “strife,” everyone to flee. When strife arises and we don’t know what to do – Then listen carefully to the One who says, “Come unto Me.”
There may be some things we can do to deal with strife – But the best thing of all is, to in fervency pray That God will come in and help me to set my things right – And He will give me the right things to do and to say. I can sit by in fear, or fuss and complain – But that’s no solution, there are changes to make – That God can make plain when I’m listening to Him – And He brings success when His directions I take.
“O heavenly Father, I am listening this morning to Thy counsel so that if and when strife arises and a battle against it must be fought, I will be ready to act in the strength of the Lord. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.”
