Matthew 25:13

THE SON OF MAN COMETH

Matthew 25:13. “Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.”

THE SON OF MAN COMETH. v.1-13. WAITING Invitation is given: “went forth” – the day long-awaited is near Occupation is right: “to meet the bridegroom” - the Bridegroom is coming Preparation is overlooked: “no oil” – five wise and five foolish Anticipation is waning: “slumbered and slept” – couldn’t tell the difference Separation is real: “the door was shut” – I know you not v.14-30. WORKING Relationship: his own servants Stewardship: delivered unto them his goods Hardship: faithful over a few things Fellowship: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord v.31-48. WARNING Son of Man in His glory: all before Him versus Him before them King on His throne: seated in power versus hung in humiliation Lord with His brethren: identifying with them versus despised and rejected Judge in His authority: dispensing justice versus falsely accused

“O Father in heaven: what a difference there will be when the Lord returns compared to what He endured when He was here before. I am thankful that He was willing to come before that I might be saved. I bow in praise even now, reminded of the fact that He could call us today. I am ready! Amen.”

THE ARRIVAL. Matthew 25:40. “And the King shall answer them and say unto them, ‘Verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these My brethren, ye have done it unto Me.’” He went away from Olivet, with very few to see – Eleven men there watched Him rise to His home. From death’s cold bond forevermore He’s free – His sacrificial work here on earth was now done.

He left behind here, a promise He had made, “I’m coming back to take you home with Me. From then until now all God’s people have prayed, With eyes lifted in full expectancy.

False voices rise and false claims many hear, That they are the “person” and know the time. As things continue to grow worse, it is clear, Those people are blind leaders of the blind.

For those who are waiting the arrival of Him, He has given to us talents to use. It is incumbent upon me to wisely use them In ways He allows me to choose.

A time in the future will bring completely to light, All I have done for Him alone in my life. May all I have labored for be good in His sight, And may the way I have labored be right.

For at His arrival to claim what is His, Everything will be put in plain view. Each action and thought will be shown what it is, And its worth and its cost He will show.

We anxiously wait for the King when He comes, To receive from us what He first gave. To see Him honored and receiving His own, We will all say, “He is mighty to save!”

“Father God: what glory awaits Thy Son when He comes. What honors He will receive from the faithful of the ages. What joy will fill each waiting heart when the King is finally acknowledged for who He is and what is rightfully His. Awaiting His arrival, I am your anticipating son, Amen.”
