Proverbs 11:3. “The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.”
A MAN OF INTEGRITY. He stands before his father and mother and listens to them – respectfully Their admonitions and instructions do not fall on deaf ears – silently From the models of two who love each other and him, he has learned – consciously When the time comes for him to leave home, they are confident in his – integrity
Studying hard he applies himself to the subjects at hand – studiously He hears the lectures and gives attention to the details – intently While others play, he prepares himself for the exams – privately At the graduation he walks across and is applauded for his – integrity
He is on his own now making decisions that affect others – cautiously It is not his intent to compromise his work so he does it – carefully People learn to trust him as day after day he lives – consistently A reputation is earned and he is known as a man of – integrity
He has a wife who trusts him and looks up to him – lovingly The children follow his guidance and speak of him – admiringly The family unit lives happily together and enjoys each other – peacefully Guided by one who has committed himself at home to –integrity
As believers gather together in worship and praise, he is there – devotedly His leadership provided to the saints is trusted because he makes decisions – prayerfully When needs arise that need to be met, he is there to assist – gladly And when advice is asked or counsel given, he is well known for his –integrity
He is old now and life moves along more slowly but he accepts that – patiently As he looks back over his life, he traces God’s ways with him – gratefully After saying his last good-byes to those he loves he looks up – confidently Trusting in God’s grace alone, he has lived and died as a man of – integrity
“Father, I have known some men and women like this. Father and mother were people of integrity. Others too who are well known to Thee have left their mark on the people in their lives and even now are spoken of with appreciation. I would like to be a part of that band of saints who may be unknown to most people but those who did know them speak of their integrity. I ask that I might not waste my remaining years or lose any credibility because of a lack of integrity. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.”
