Proverbs 31:1. “The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him.”
MOTHER – TEACHER.
Don’t compromise yourself – you are much better than them You have strengths “God-given”, unique for reasons known to Him Unknown as yet to you and others, but not to God You are not your own, a price for you was paid – “Be the person God wants no matter what others do and say!”
Some people do what they feel pressured to do because of others Listen to advice based on long life and the concern of mothers Stand up for righteousness – commit yourself to loyalty And honor, self-respect, turn away from considered popularity – “Away with wine – dark judgments and speak the truth!”
Do not rush into a decision irreversible – take time Consider the reputation you and she will live with For life – you will be linked by name as one And known for the rest of life by each other – “You will be ‘one’ in body, soul and spirit!”
The example is there for your learning and wisdom Read and learn – act with care and concern Take the necessary time to consider and to pray True wisdom comes from God who knows and cares – About practical things, and kindness, and self-respect!
“Father in heaven, my prayer today is that Thou wilt preserve the mothers that are willing to teach their sons and give sensible reasons to insensible people. Help them to never give up even when their sons don’t seem to pay them much heed. Give them the special grace to maintain their courage even when they are discouraged by the foolish decisions the young make. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.”
