Proverbs 8:22-23. “The Lord possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old. I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning or ever the earth was.” BEFORE THE BEGINNING. It was there in eternity – in a body – in a Person Before the Voice on earth was heard – the world was only a plan Before the dividing – when the water was hiding – when its substance was only a purpose Before the hemispheres – before the atmosphere – before the mountains were positioned WISDOM WAS THERE!
It was there before the fields – before the trees and grass made cover Before the oceans covered the deep places – before the compass or the circle Before the seasons – before the years – before the sky filled with clouds Before the orbits – before the galaxies – before the shining constellations WISDOM WAS THERE!
When the tides began their relentless movement to the boundary When the animals and birds found on earth a sanctuary When the Craftsman on the sixth day formed man carefully When each part of creation kept its place functioning orderly WISDOM WAS THERE!
When deity walked among humanity in the divine purpose When angels, His gracious words and acts joined in proclamation When sins were forgiven and disease healed by One powerfully And words of truth and righteousness were taught passionately WISDOM WAS THERE!
When the Sinless One was made sin for us in a righteous act When the Just One suffered for the unjust that we to God might come back When the Perfect Substitute took my place providing for what I lack And death was defeated by Him who held death’s key and the earth did crack. WISDOM WAS THERE!
“Eternal God, who is the Originator and Sustainer of all things: I have great wonder as I look at all the things that form Thy design of creation. The personification of wisdom is seen in the Lord Jesus Christ when He was here on earth it is true. I also am made aware of the fact that in Thy wisdom everything was planned and carried out by Thy eternal wisdom. I worship as I consider all the works Thou hast done by Thy word. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.”
