1 Thessalonians 4:17

With the Lord

With the Lord. 1st Thessalonians 4:17 The main hope for believers today will come true, and people on earth will recognize what has happened. Many unbelievers mock the idea of “The Second Coming of Christ,” treating it like a scare tactic. There’s no doubt that living believers and resurrected saints will be “caught up,” “raptured” together into the presence of the Lord in the heavens and will see Him in His divine glory. We will be with Him forever!

The role we will play and the service we will be involved in are hard to imagine now, in this scene where we live limited lives under the tension of being surrounded by the three main enemies—the world, the flesh, and the devil. Here, things get worse and worse day after day; there, people are righteous, godly, holy, pure, and undefiled. There is moral and spiritual darkness here, but permanent moral and spiritual light will be there.

While on earth, we bear the image of the earthly; then, we will be in the image of heavenly beings who are like our Lord. Here on earth, we are unique; in heaven, we will still be recognized as who we are but will be transformed to be like the Lord in bodies suited to the environment of heaven. We will be able to do what He wants and accomplish the purposes given without mistakes or wrong motives and at the right time.
