AVOID STRIFE. 2nd Timothy 2:23 The point of this chapter is that the servant of the Lord needs to be ready to serve. There are some things we must avoid rather than stand and fight. Any temptation that draws us toward sin must be escaped because a desire or passion can trip up both older and younger servants. Physical removal isn't always easy, but when we understand the consequences of failure - run, don't fight. On the other hand, a servant should seek out positive truth alongside trustworthy people who have separated from everything that is wrong. Doing what is right, trusting God, loving others, and making peace are actions a servant should never be ashamed of. Others are doing the same, so join them—not those who give in to temptation, spread false teachings, or oppose God's people and His truth. When we recognize and take responsibility for what is right, we will easily sense and understand what is wrong. Sometimes, it's hard to handle issues, false teachings, and spiritually immature people. Those who ignore the truth have ignorant and uneducated minds that can influence assemblies and individuals. Foolish and meaningless arguments about trivial matters do not impact our salvation, and engaging in such disputes brings no real benefit because they only create unnecessary conflict.
