The Jubilee. Leviticus 25:10. “And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubilee unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession. And ye shall return every man unto his family.”
Fifty years of light have come and gone; the Year of Jubilee has now fully arrived – and God waits. His people must remember again that what I think is mine actually belongs to Him – it is not truly mine. The land needs rest, and so do the people; go back to the beginning and restart — like at the first. This is no time to boast about being here for fifty years or having been saved for fifty years or more. It is God who prospers the work itself, whether it be His work in us, through us, or the work in our hands - the work is His.
However, this should be a moment of joy as we reflect on all that God has done. Let the trumpets sound with a joyful noise, for fifty years of life with God have passed—Jubilee has arrived! “Shenath Hayobhel” is truly here; it has come now, marking the fiftieth year of God's work in transforming us into what He desires. Hopefully, Christlikeness is evident in our character, conduct, and effectiveness in service and worship. The work begins with the Gospel reaching our own souls and God saving us by His grace. Then, He entrusts us with a task for Him, and He prospers that work until genuine spiritual fruit is produced.
“Keren Hayobhel” echoes throughout the land; silver trumpets and rams' horns call us to stop and praise! Announce that grace has triumphed and the slaves are set free. The land belongs to God Himself, who has permitted us to use it and be blessed by it. At the tent of gathering, where worship begins, let the sounds of honor and praise rise to full voice and ascend to God's throne. Let those in distant places, different climates, and various faces hear of His glory, and let us rejoice together. Great things He has done, without a doubt! Let everyone join in and shout with one voice – our God reigns! We are humbled and joyful at the same time, as our faces are redeemed; the joy within our hearts and spirits surpasses any other because - I am the Lord’s!
God be thanked; we are free today. We have gathered to pay Him homage—To God be the glory! A generation has passed, and part of another; a new one rises with new saints who are still sisters and brothers—to claim our land. It began small when God opened the door, and it gradually grew until the Lord added more. Now we gather with Him in liberty; we are no longer slaves by our God; we are free—all debts canceled.
This is the end of the beginning, not the end; from this place, we now pray that God will send faithful people to continue what He has started. We are free today. The shackles are broken, and from this privileged place, God’s Word is spoken honestly. We will not turn back. We must move forward; everyone must know Christ’s blood was shed, and peace has been made. We are free from sin, made servants of God, not by force, but because we love Him fully.
“Preach the Gospel to the poor” is to proclaim it; all the people of the Lord do their part so others will hear and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. We seem so small among the nations of men, but our God loves us even when we fail. We walk with Him as children of light; small lights in the darkness always appear bright when they are in fellowship. We look ahead – the morning comes; we walk, worship, and war as one – The Rapture nears!
As we gather to rest for a while, we converse with brothers and sisters, smiling as we reflect on all the ways He has guided us. The Lord has worked, and He will work again. We must prepare our hearts for that time and then move forward in faith, trusting that souls are being saved. Worshipping people is God's power; we are dedicated to Him and His Holy Word—no compromises. At this jubilee year, we pause to look back; then we turn around, see the heavenly path, and know it leads us home to God.
