Philippians 2:11

JESUS CHRIST IS LORD

JESUS CHRIST IS LORD. Philippians 2:11. “And every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” I have watched some who had never heard the name of Jesus as Lord and Savior listen to the Gospel being preached. They find it hard to grasp that Jesus is the same person as God; it was never taught in their teaching. As they listen to what is being said, they are asked to consider that God became man to save our souls from hell. You can almost see how they are thinking: How is this possible? Who in this world can be God and man as well? Can Jesus be God and a man at the same time?

What makes this truth real to skeptics, even though they don't fully understand it, is the lives of those who personally know Jesus as their Lord. People observe believers who live as Christians should—guided by the Spirit and the Word. They become convinced of God and their need for Him by watching those who know and love the Lord Jesus Christ, and they start to realize this is what they've been missing. As they see humble saints shine as lights, they step in faith to accept God’s blessing of salvation and the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Then it becomes real to them, as it is to me; we love the One who paid our sin-debt by giving His life as a ransom for me. Each new believer learns, begins to see, and experiences more of the blessings we have in Jesus. Out of joyful appreciation for God’s salvation, the newborn servant is willing to do all our Savior desires, and his purpose in life is serving Jesus as Lord throughout his life.
