A PECULIAR BEAUTY. An elderly man: His face is now wrinkled; his skin is thinning and beginning to be mottled. He is bent over and walks more slowly than before. His steps are not as long. He doesn’t speak as loudly as he once did, and his words come more slowly, but they remain distinct. He deliberately takes longer to make decisions; now they are well-thought-out and considered, unlike when he was young. He has more patience, and it lasts longer; his temper is longer, and his expressions of love are more substantial and meaningful. He wants to adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things. He has a peculiar beauty.
An aged woman: Her dignity is so apparent as she moves among God’s people that they clearly and audibly show her respect. Her holiness shines through. Her spiritual stability is such that those with serious questions instantly trust her judgment. Her actions and words align with what she says. Younger women seek her counsel for daily life. Her ability to explain life issues from a woman’s perspective is highly valued because people know she wants to adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things. She has a unique beauty.
Young woman: She has learned the lessons well from her mentor and has taken them to heart. She acts on what she has learned. Now, she has committed herself fully to her husband and loves him. She can express her love for their children in almost every situation. She recognizes that her neighbors watch her, talk about her, and wonder… She lives with a discreet dignity in the eyes of the public with whom she does business. She, too, has a unique beauty.
Young man: He is enthusiastic about life and all it has to offer but is not reckless. He works hard and loves well. He does a good job for his employer and is punctual, consistently delivering his best work. His dealings with others are fair. He does not work underhandedly, take shortcuts, or accept bribes. He acts without partiality and speaks with firmness and careful consideration. He means what he says. He lives his life before God, just like all the others who uphold the doctrine of God. He has a unique beauty.
