1st John 2:12. “I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name’s sake.” FORGIVEN. Some words do not need a lot of explanation – The word itself is its own joyous proclamation – It extends itself beyond even the word salvation – Because of it I can see face of God!
I needed forgiveness for what I inherently am – By nature, I am a sinner – a sin-cursed man. When I trusted Christ as Savior, then I became – A forgiven person, cleansed by Jesus’ blood!
What I have done wrong from day one till now Even though I’m cleansed – that doesn’t change sin somehow – When I in repentance and confession before God, do bow – I rest as a forgiven person before my Lord! When I see Jesus in His holiness and the effects of His grace – When I understand I couldn’t survive the brightness of His face Yet I am welcomed as a worshipper into His Holy Place – I know I am given a new life by the Holy God!
Words of the Gospel are given and the Savior received – Words of assurance are given and these words believed – Words of welcome when seeing the Lord, I bow my knees – Forgiven and accepted in the presence of the Lord!
“Forgiven by Thee, Heavenly Father, is the only claim I have to be accepted by Thee. How great and holy art Thou and I am able to be called a child of God because of Thy grace alone. I praise Thee in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.”
