1st John 2:13. “I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father.” KNOWN HIM. In some ways it seems like a long, long time – In other ways only recent, Since I first met Thee when this humbled heart of mine – Was made by the Spirit truly repentant. Nearly sixty years have come and long since passed – When I first called Thee, my heavenly Father. Now I am called a father because at long last – I have come to know Thee better than any other.
I know Thee to be true in every life situation – Thou hast never forsaken me – never failed. Right from the beginning – the day of my salvation, I knew there was a way for me to take. By Thy grace and help these experiences of life been given, Each an act of God whether small or great – I know my Lord, that from here right into heaven – Each experience has helped my character to make.
Lord, I hope it doesn’t seem that I’m being too familiar – Everything I am and hope – I owe to You. From physical needs that arise and to everyone is similar, To the private spiritual acts that have now come due – Its just I know Thee well enough that I have naught to hide, Every thought and word is exposed for what it is. My joy and comfort in life, is to in Thyself abide – I have learned that it is here I am truly blessed.
“I am so thankful Father this eternal life I enjoy every day is a result of knowing Thee. It is delightful to experience God in the large and small things of every day. What a joy to see Thee respond to my faith when I place a seed in the ground, or when I am able to plant a seed of the Gospel in some good ground hearer. Life is so right when I can see evidence of it in every place. It even makes my knees weak to think of such power and glory at my disposal. I worship in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.”
