1st John 2:14. “I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.” YE ARE STRONG. It is warfare – the lines are drawn – There is no way to avoid the confrontation. The enemy is strong – implacable, without feeling – His sole objective is to bring about destruction. There are no areas to go where the battle does not rage – There is no specific line of demarcation. Opposition arises day or night – open or subtly – The wicked one relentlessly tracks those who preach salvation.
But you are strong, the Spirit of God has come – He indwells empowering you with faith – strength far beyond satanic opposition. The Father and Son have committed to being with you – You who keep His commands and experience practical sanctification – You overcome by power far beyond human capacity – Because the experience of God working in you brings the realization You are not alone, undone, underpowered by the flesh – But strengthened and overcoming obstacles by divine operation.
And so, it comes to hand; the divine Word to you – Thus, to read and make your own, by personal meditation. Stepping out on truths now known and claimed by action – The overcomer rises higher than before in faith now proven. The Father blesses that young man who knows God’s strength – And rests assured on the basis of God’s complete justification. From faith’s first day of introduction and knowing – Through years of living by faith we are blessed by personal acceptation.
“I thank Thee, O God, for the strength given to those who have experienced Thy grace. It is surely necessary for those who bear the yoke to know Thy power in the fight against the evil of satanic opposition. I praise Thee for victory in Christ. Amen.”
